The Right Reverend James (Lonnie) Lane

The Right Reverend James (Lonnie) Lane
Ruling Elder & Bishop
Dayspring Ministries International
Rev. James Leon (Lonnie) Lane has been ordained since Apr., 1987, with the Christian Church/Church
of Christ, and was ordained with the AECC on Sept. 1, 2003.
He holds A.A. and B.A. degrees in Biblical Studies with Living Word Bible College in St.
Louis, MO. Prior to that, he studied at St. Louis Christian College in St. Louis, having been awarded two
scholarships. He was placed on the Dean's List there and received an Outstanding Scholarship Award. Currently,
Rev. Lane is studying for a B.A. in Ministry with Tripp Bible College in North Carolina, and intends to go on to Master and
Doctoral level studies.
Rev. Lane has served full-time as a pastor for five years and has approximately seven years
experience as a part-time minister, youth minister, and supply preacher. He has served in chuches of the Christian Church/Church
of Christ as well as in American Baptist, Disciples of Christ, and United Methodist churches. Rev. Lane was filled with
the Holy Spirit at a Full Gospel Businessmen's meeting in 1987. He has attended and served in leadership roles in Spirit-filled
churches as well. His experience in various denominations has given him a well-rounded view of Christ's church and His
people. He truly sees all Christians as brothers and sisters in Christ, serving the same God. He feels Christians
need to agree on essential matters of the faith, but after that, need to search for areas where we can find unity rather than
separation. Currently, Rev. Lane serves as Assistant Missions Director with the ECC/AECC, and as 2nd Associate Pastor
of the MSECC with Rev. John Wright of the ECC.
Rev. Lane has also worked in radio as a D.J., News Director/Writer/Reporter, and Production
Manager (in charge of writing and producing commercials and public service announcements). At the present time,
he is working part-time at a major teaching Christian radio station in St. Louis. He has also been a professional
and semi-professional singer/musician in the secular music world, having had the opportunity to work with well-known
entertainers. He has extensive experience with traditional Gospel music and some recent experience with Christian Contemporary
music as well. He considers radio and music to be valuable avenues for ministry.
Rev. Lane has seen both the positive and the negative sides of ministry. Having survived
major crises, he has a heart for hurting ministers and congregations. He has known the healing touch of the Savior
and knows there is hope no matter how dark things may seem. One of Rev. Lane's favorite Scripture passages is Romans
8:38-39, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." AMEN!
